Congratulations to the March Madness of Trivia Tournament Champions, Parappa the Rappa! After seven weeks of head-to-head competition, they stand alone atop the pile of their beaten opponents. Their sheer size helped catapult them to a decisive victory over The One and Only Mr. Lonely…

But, their victory is short-lived, as the SUMMER TOURNAMENT HAS BEGUN!

After the dust settled at Caddies, our Championship Game is set! Both #1 seeds remaining got ousted, as One and Only Mr. Lonely blew out the Winter Tournament Champions Black Widow… And the massive (and possibly possessed, based on the photo) team of Parappa the Rappa got past Occularists to earn their spots in the Championship Game! The venue will be announced later this week… Stay tuned!

The FINAL 4 is done and congratulations to all the teams that were able to cut down the proverbial nets.  In the Bethesda North division, the 5 seed One and only Mr. Lonely held off the 7 seed Cinderella Coming from Behind.  In the South the #1 Black Widow continued their dominance by taking out the #2 High Fashion.  In College Park, 3 seed Parappa the Rappa upset the #1 SNRS in route to their first ever District Trivia tournament finals.  Welcome to the elite.  In the Arlington/DC division the Occularists held on against I’m on a Boat to represent the largest geographical region in the tournament.

Please remember that the Final 4 will be held at Caddies on Cordell in Bethesda on Tuesday night (thats tomorrow).  IF you are in the final 4 you must be in attendance to win, so please plan accordingly.  All 4 teams will be taking on their opponents on April 24th at Caddies.

The Elite 8 has been set and upsets reigned supreme.  The Bethesda-North division saw the fall of our first #1 seed, the #1 overall, to The One and Only Mr. Lonely, a 5 seed.  In the Bethesda-South bracket we actually got something right and the #1 Black Widow will face the #2 High Fashion to see who cuts down the proverbial nets and goes to the final four.  In College Park we had a minor upset with the #3 Parappa the Rappa taking out the #2 You Can’t Sit with Us, but the #1 seed, SNRS, continues to roll over their opponents.  Finally in the DC bracket, we are set for a show down of massive proportions as the powerhouse Occularists face I’m On A Boat in a Battle Royale style death match where only one will emerge.

Please remember that the lower seed is supposed to travel to the higher seeds home bar and play head to head against them, but if you can’t take the time or location change you can just play your regular game and we will compare the scores (It’s just not as fun).  Also, please keep in mind that the Final 4 will be held at Rock Bottom in Bethesda on Wednesday night April 25th and all competing teams must be in attendance, so please plan accordingly.  All 8 teams will be taking on their opponents the week of April 16th-April 19th.

Congratulations to all the teams that survived and made it to the Sweet 16 of our First annual March Madness of Trivia Tournament.  Round One has come and gone with the Arlington/DC division going straight chalk.  In the College Park Division, the 3 Looneys teams were blown out of the water by the Barking Dog-CP (and yes we did take the national championship game into consideration when comparing the scores).  But the big upsets came fast and often in the two Bethesda divisions with your Cinderella Team, the aptly named Coming From Behind, knocking off the 2 seeded General Bathtub.  Keep your eye on them moving forward.  The other game of note on the Bethesda side was between I Don’t do Cocaine and I Swear to Drunk I’m Not God, the latter of which eked out the closest win of the tournament so far.   Please remember that the lower seed is supposed to travel to the higher seeds home bar and play head to head against them, but if you can’t take the time or location change you can just play your regular game and we will compare the scores (It’s just not as fun).  All 16 teams will be taking on their opponents the week of April 9th-April 12th.
